T-Handles

Bifolding Doors, T-handlesEach intermediate panel has heavy duty shoot bolt locking, which when locked prevents each group of two folding panels from being opened. Each set of shoot bolts are operated by a pop-out T-handle. The pop-out T-handles are on the inside of the door only and as a result cannot be operated from outside. T-handles can be key lockable if required and are available in white, black, chrome, black chrome (gun metal) and silver as standard or in any RAL colour for an additional cost.

Traffic Door Handles

Bifolding Doors, handlesA traffic door provides you with outside access through your bifolding doors as such you have a handle on the inside and outside (as standard). However you can choose not to have a handle on the outside if you wish. Having no handle on the outside provides you with added security, because the bifolding will now have no outside access. On traffic doors we offer lever lever handles, that you can choose to have in white, black, chrome, black chrome (gun metal) or silver as standard or in any RAL colour for an additional cost.

Outside Access And Traffic Doors

Whether or not you can have a traffic door depends on the configuration of your door panels. Any configuration that allows for an uneven number of panels folding and sliding away in either direction (left or right) will result in your Bi folds having a traffic door. This door will operate independently to provide you with quick and easy access in and out of your bifolding Doors, without having to fold all of the panels open. Bifolding Doors fold in two’s, which mean an odd number of panel will result in a loose door that comes away from the frame, much like any standard hinged door. This loose panel is then secured to the folding panels with strong magnet buffers, which also acts as to prevent the traffic door from crashing into the folding panels.

A Bifolding Door with three panels will always have a traffic door, what ever the configuration. While a four pane bifolding door will not have a traffic door when all four doors slide left or right, but it will have a double traffic door in a three-one split. A three-one split results in a double traffic door because you have two lose panels one on the three connected to the folding panels and one lose door connected to the outerframe.
