Fixed aluminium secondary glazing
Secondary glazing is designed to reduce noise and cut heat loss by adding another window inside and in addition to your existing external windows. It is easy to fit and is cost effective and is very popular in conservation areas where the existing external windows cannot be changed. It is ideal near busy roads, airports, train lines or where your existing windows are draughty. Even if you have double glazing already you may still find a useful improvement by fitting secondary glazing.

Although the Fixed frame functions in the same way as the Economy Odd leg frame, it is not exactly like the Economy frame. Like the Economy it has no Subframe and fixes flush with the existing window, but unlike the Economy frame the ‘Fixed’ frame does not have an odd leg and is a system in its own right. Manufactured by us specifically for the purpose of being used for fixed secondary glazing.

Our fixed secondary glazing can be from 300mm to 1200mm wide and between 300mm and 1600mm high. If safety glass is used; the 6mm Toughened or the 6mm laminated glass is fitted we are able to produce Fixed secondary up to 1500mm wide and 2600mm high. Our Secondary Glazing comes in three standard colours which include white, brown and silver. Optionally we can also paint the aluminium any RAL colour. The fixed unit does not come with trims.

The panels are a single glazed unit that is not removable and can be used for a number of different reasons. These fixed units come with pre-drilled countersunk holes, which makes it very simple to install. The fixed secondary system is the slimmest out of all of our secondary units as it does not have any subframe. The wool pile on the back of the frame helps create an good seal onto the existing window, which will help prevent draughts and helps to block sound out.

The fixed units can also be used for a number of other reasons, such as frames for advertising posters, frames for certificates and a very common use is for notice boards in receptions and waiting rooms.

When thinking about secondary glazing ask if you can also have a flyscreen fitted. Did you know that calls to NHS Direct regarding mosquito bites have increased 28% in August compared to last year?
