We sent our Emperor Concealed Hinge Low Threshold Bi-folding Doors to Wintech Engineering Limited for security testing. The door was tested to PAS24 for security and it passed with flying colours. As a result our Emperor Concealed Hinge Low Threshold Bifold Doors are now compliant with the new October 2015 Doc. Q Building Regulations for Security in New Build Dwellings.
Wintech Engineering Limited is an independent UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited test house. We submitted a range of doors to Wintech to be tested to PAS 24. Between the 11th and 12th August our doors were subject to a number or rigorous security tests, which consisted of both hard body and soft body attacks. They tested all aspects of the doors including the glazing beads, frame, locking cylinders and each of the locking points. PAS 24 is an enhanced security standard; Products certified to these high standards have resisted a series of professional attacks, each lasting up to 15 minutes (SR 2 & PAS 24) or 10 minutes (SR 1) using a variety of hand tools such as hammers, crowbars, chisels and hacksaws.
Our new rebated low threshold tested to and exceeded BS EN 6375: Part 1. BS 6375 provides advice on a selection of performance characteristics for door sets intended for the UK market. Characteristics such as Wind Resistance, Air Leakage and Water Resistance are tested. We are now one of only a small number of companies in the UK, to be able to offer a weather rated low threshold. Please ask if you wish to see our test results - they are due to be published shortly.
