The season to start fitting Secondary Glazing is here. At Duration Windows we are always looking to improve our existing products as well as offering new and exciting products ot our customers. We are now offering American Oak subframes and trims with our aluminium Luxury Subframe secondary glazing. These beautiful solid wood subframes can then be trimmed with our new matching solid American oak trims to provide a beautiful finish. These beautiful trims can be left a natural finish or stained to match your existing wooden windows, surrounds, existing subframes or window boards. Either way both products are a great addition to our Secondary glazing product range.

Due to the nature of Bifold Doors if they are not installed correctly and with due care and attension you can have problems with them dropping. They must be installed square and level and toe and healed correctly. As a result we have updated and improved all of our Bi-folding Door customer support documents. We now have brand new Bifold Door installation and assembly, section identification guides, threshold and floor level manuals and we have even created a Bifold Door User Guide that can be left with the homeowner. It took alot of time and effort but it will be worth it because these guides are bound to make the lives of our customers much easier.

Our sister company Aluminium By Design was jelous of our new website (launched in sand so we have set about to give their website a re-fresh also. We have been working to design a new site, that would rival the new Duration Windows site and have today launched the new ABD website. The site is different to the Duration Windows website being that the colours, layout and content is all different, but has a similar look and feel. We feel that having the website in a similar style to the Duration Windows website is inkeeping with our new coorperate image and brings a consitancy to the Duration Group. We at Duration Windows always endeavour to make things better and easier for you, our customers. We have designed and developed a new window configurator. The Smarts 47 window configurator allows you to pick the profiles you want and shows you a 3D model / corner sample of the window that these profiles would create. It provides useful information about handles, outerframes, sashes and beads to help you with your choices. We have also added images of the handle when displaying your result to show you a complete overview of your choices before you download the comprehensive PDF which shows your window design along with some technical information, such as outerframe depth and sight-lines.

We have reduced the cost of Dual colour for our Durafold 1000 Bi-folding Doors. Dual colour is were you can choose and different colour for the inside of your door to the outside of your doors. For example dark grey matt outside with a neutral white gloss inside. If the colours you choose are from our KL colour range the price is now no more expensive than a fully white door.

Previously if you had a bifold with an even number of panels folding in any one direction it was impossible to offer outside access on this door style. This is due to the fact that you would not have a traffic door and the way that the intermediate handles function. But now with our new Pendulum handle, which is available for our Durafold 1000 Bi-folding Door, all this has changed. These handles can now be used on the interior and exterior thus creating outside access for your even panelled bifold door.

We are now manufacturing Sun Trap Bay Windows from our Heritage window range. One of the most recognizable features of a 1930's 'Art Deco' home was the curved on plan metal windows. We exhibited at Grand Designs Live at the ExCeL for nine days from Friday the 30^th April 2011. The show was a roaring success and our ever popular Bi-folding Doors stole the show yet again. With fatastic reduced prices especially for the show it was one not to miss. We used to offer electronic integrated blinds that were very expensive, unreliable, messy looking and required an electrition to install them. Not these blinds! This patented high performance low voltage electronic system utilises a wireless magnetic transmission plate. The electronic blinds raise, lower and tilt functions are achieved by the means of an internal motor in the top rail of the sealed unit, which is powered and operated using the electronic control unit. To operate the blinds simply place the battery powered control unit onto the magnetised plate and using the up, down and tilt buttons move the blinds. The Electronic Control Units are rechargeable so no need to worry about the cost of constantly replacing batteries.
